From Le Saint Bock, a fairly new brew pub in Montreal. This barleywine style ale is brewed "Quebec style" - the second fermentation is triggered with maple syrup. After fermentation is complete the beer is aged for 6 months in a Port Wine barrel. The result is a powerhouse of a beer with complex flavors of dried dates, figs, raisins, caramel, toffee, nuts, and hints of Port Wine.
